Name: Tala Acacia Piers
Nickname: Tala
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Looks: Tala has straight, dark brown hair, almost black. In startling contrast are her piercing, dark blue eyes. She’s rather tall for a girl and slim-built, but the slim comes from her just being hyperactive rather than her actually trying to be so. She generally wears her hair down and it rests just above her shoulder blades. She wears jeans most of the time and a loose, comfortable shirt.
Theme Song: Change Your Mind by Sister Hazel
Personnel or Patient: Patient
Species: lycanthropic (Wolf. The transformation often takes place at random, completely uncontrollable, although she is rarely rabid in that form.)

(That’s about what she looks like as a werewolf, though she’s supposed to have darker, more bluish fur. Maybe one day I’ll draw one of her myself, but until then, courtesy of Annie Mårtensson at ElfWood.)
Personality: Tala is fun-loving and happy. Her favorite pastime is random bursts of hyperness that usually raise a few eyebrows. At the same time she is very independent and is one of those people who can entertain herself for hours with nothing but a paperclip and a broken pen. She doesn’t care what others think of her. She likes friends of course, but if no one wants to hang with her then she’s still happy to just be herself and she goes off to have her own fun. She knows that she could do a lot better if she wanted to, but she’s just happy as she is. Tala does not easily succumb to depression, although she can be serious and sympathetic towards others. She’s very kind and sensitive to people's moods. She doesn’t like people to be mad at her and in this way she can be easily manipulated—just start up a sop story and she’ll be at your feet in seconds. Because she’s so sensitive, she’ll almost never do anything to hurt people mentally or physically unless they do it to her first, but she does sometimes joke around and may hurt feelings without meaning too. When she does calm down she loves drawing and writing extensive stories that she’s never patient enough to finish. Tala has very few fears in life and she’ll rarely turn down a dare. Even so, it’s not a good thing to freak her out, as she’ll probably kick you across the room before she realizes what’s going on. The only things she’s afraid of are spiders and feeling trapped—so if you get her in a locked room with a dozen black widows she’ll probably have a heart attack. But if you ask her to jump off a cliff into rocky waters she won’t hesitate to do it.
She’s lycanthropic, so some of her personality is changed when she’s a wolf, but not by much. She basically becomes just a hyperactive dog. Sometimes, when she least expects it, she may go rabid and try to hurt anything and everything she can reach, but this is rare. Usually she’s tame even though she pretty much becomes a dumb animal. You can’t possibly hope to talk sense to her in this form, so often times she’ll go off and get herself in trouble.
History: Tala was born an Idaho girl on her family’s farm. She’s always had a knack with animals and a love for the outdoors so her parents weren’t too concerned when she started showing particular interest in the wolf pack that was just beyond their farmland. After all, they thought she was at least smart enough not to go near them. Oh, how wrong they were. Tala can never really recall exactly what happened, but that was when she began to develop lycanthrope. She doesn’t know whether the wolves gave this to her or if this power was there all along, waiting to be awakened.
When she became aware of it she desperately tried to keep it secret. But then she began transforming when it was not the full moon or there was no moon at all (that’s one of the reasons she thinks that full moon theory is stupid). It happened at random, completely uncontrollable. She couldn’t keep this secret for long, and sure enough she transformed before her parents’ eyes. They freaked. (Who wouldn’t?) They desperately began searching for help while trying to keep Tala out of the public’s eye (though that second part didn’t go over with her very well.). They found out about Maleficium’s School for the gifted.
Tala fought tooth and nail not to go—she liked her life as it was and as far as she could see she did no harm when she transformed—well…except that one time she raided the chicken coup. But that was all in good fun! Oh well, at any rate she was finally dragged here and now she’s being rather huffy about it, but she knows she’s just going to have to deal with it so she’s making the best of it.
